As the regular season winds down, the Celtics have at last filled their final roster spot.
The team has declared the signing of Neemias Queta for the remainder of the season, rendering him eligible for postseason participation. Additionally, according to MassLive’s Brian Robb, the agreement extends beyond this season, indicating a multi-year commitment.
Following his release by Sacramento subsequent to an MVP season with their Stockton affiliate, Neemias Queta was swiftly signed to a two-way contract by President of Basketball Operations Brad Stevens early last autumn. He contributed significantly during the early stages of the regular season, particularly shining during a demanding December west coast trip as the team’s frontcourt faced injury challenges. Across twenty-six games, the Portuguese-born player has maintained averages of 4.6 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 0.6 blocks in 11.4 minutes per game.
Queta’s future with Boston’s G-League affiliate remains uncertain, especially with Al Horford and Kristaps Porzingis listed as questionable for tonight’s game in Milwaukee. While there’s a chance for Queta to gain valuable playing time with the main team, the organization might also opt to let him complete his tenure with the G-League squad.
Queta is a dogged competitor and above average rebounder and shot blocker. He is only going to get better and can help in certain matchups in the playoffs!
I think this is a great signing for the future!
Yes of course
